My Christmas Wishlist
|
Dear Santa,
I've been a good girl (and an overworked and stressed out employee) this year, so my materialistic self humbly pleads the following for Christmas. Some new versions of my old stuff like:
1. A new Nokia N95. (A kick-ass phone!)
2. A new Fender Acoustic Guitar
3. A new laptop (Cause Charlie, my current pc, is already three years old and very outdated)
And some feel-good things like:
1. Broadway's Miss Saigon DVD starring Lea Salonga and Simon Bowman
2. A vacation with no worries, no mental baggage. Just bumming and food tripping. Boracay or Bangkok or Tunisia or London or Munich will do... hehe! (Santa, don't forget my pocket money... haha!)
3. An ultimate one month gimmick with my friends... from billiards to bowling, from snorkeling to kayaking, from wall climbing to bungee jumping, from window shopping to salon pampering, from arcade gaming to food tripping... and a lot of dancing and singing and merry-making.
That's all Santa...
Happy Holidays!
Lovie

Love Formula
|
After five years of mastering the blending of Hedonism and Mysticism, I found out my own formula of love.
LOVIE (is my name, need I say more? hehe! But seriously...) surrounds herself with love. She sees good things in every person, in every situation, in every challenge that comes her way. I, as Lovie, lives the loving life. I so love myself! Narcissiustic as it may seem, but I try to moderate this thing. I project a very positive aura. I love myself and accept myself. In addition, this feel-good aura somehow touches the lives of others (in bad or good way, but I hope it would be the latter) and react accordingly. I show my love to those dear to my heart --my parents, sisters, relatives, friends, special someone (if there's any)-- and offer them my time to listen and help them when I'm needed the most.
But really, I found out that LOVE is really LOVIE minus I. Literally, LOVIE minus I is LOV_E (LOVE). Figuratively, it applies as well, the more I don't use the word "I" the more I express my love. Well, it is a given that before you can love, you have to love yourself. You can never give what you never have, so you have to establish a self-loving, self-contented individual who does not seek personal benefits, but driven to offer that "something" to somebody else.
The bottomline is, love is sacrificing those whims and caprice of yourself to compromise with the others. It's like polishing your own diamond to be more smooth, to be more radiant. Loving is like letting yourself be sharpened --listening to others, internalizing those helpful points learned and become better. Since i used the word "sharpening" the process will not always be easy. It needs an open mind, a kind heart, and patience. Well, I think love is not that complicated, sometimes we just need to love the people we love the right way. We might be loving them too much, but we don't love them well.
